Center for Island, Maritime, and Extreme Environment Security

A partnership between CIMES, BORDERS and USAF, under the direction of Dr. Kevin Montgomery from Intelesense Technologies, has received funding to conduct research and development of advanced sensor systems in support of USAF Surgeon General needs in the area of directed energy detection and other sensing. The objective of the effort is to develop and refine a modular sensing platform built into a ruggedized monitoring device. A second optional phase of the project involves conversion of the sensing prototype for airborne unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) use. More on this project as it becomes available.
